Our Pastor – Rev. Anthony Martin

Reverend Anthony R. Martin is the Senior Pastor of Second Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. He is the owner of Legacy Barbershop in Harlem, GA which extends his ministry outside of the pulpit. He is the founder of AR Ministries and the previous Pastor of Life Deliverance Church in Augusta, GA. Born, raised and educated in Augusta, Pastor Martin had a calling upon his life prior to his entrance into this world. At a very young age he began operating in the calling of music ministry at Augusta Deliverance Evangelistic Church. He continued in the calling of music on his life throughout the CSRA to include Waynesboro Deliverance Church, Redemptive Life Fellowship, New Zion Hill Baptist Church and Sharon Baptist Church. He also served as the Minister of Music for the Southern Regional Fellowship of Deliverance Churches and the Assistant Minister of Music for Kingdom Dominion Fellowship. Determined to let God use him through his music, Pastor Martin released his first album entitled “Let Me Tell It” in 1999. Through him God has placed more messages through music that has yet to be released.

Rev. Martin attended Augusta Theological Seminary and Deliverance School of Ministry with concentration in Biblical Studies. In 2019 he earned his Master’s Degree in Biblical Studies. he also desires to continue to grow spiritually in word, knowledge and wisdom so that God can continue to maximally use him giving God all the glory.

In 2005, under the spiritual care of Dr. Glenn and Pastor Betty Jo Wiggins at Waynesboro Deliverance, Reverend Martin was ordained. Working diligently in service, he transitioned to Broadway Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. C. W. Joyner in preparation until God sent him as the Pastor of Second Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in 2014.

Pastor Martin has a unique style given by God as a prolific preacher of the word of God; making the Gospel plain so as the message of God is understood by all. As the visionary at Second Mt. Moriah, he has been given a mission ordained by God to minister to the whole man: spirit, soul and body. He has an inward focus at Second Mt. Moriah on the spiritual growth of the individual, the family, the local body and worship through arts. Pastor Martin also have been given an outward focus in Kingdom building with the community of Harlem being saved one soul at a time. His success in life and ministry is attributed to holding firm and standing on the word of God. Near in his heart is, Proverbs 3: 5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

Knowing that your family is your first ministry, Pastor Martin is thankful for the gift of an invaluable asset in his lovely help mate, Sabrena. He knows the value of having a powerful, praying woman of God by his side and is forever grateful. Together they have been blessed with five wonderful children, Elijah, Shomari, Alaya, Amelia, and Anthony, Jr.
Working together, it can be said that Pastor and First Lady Martin leads by example and are truly Kingdom Builders for Christ.
